Day6: A book that makes you sad.
Sad and angry: they are two sides of the same coin. When anger is powerless that is when sadness sets in. When you know the book is about the American Indian Wars written from a Native American perspective you know it isn't going to end in unicorns and rainbows. The second half of this book is brutal, massacre after massacre endured with impotent rage until all you feel is the grief of profound loss. And yet, when I think back to this book I am filled with a sense of beauty and love. Hats off to Rose Christo for making that happen.
